Monday, February 27 marks the first day of lacrosse tryouts for District 117’s brand new team. The new team is a combination of athletes from Lakes and Antioch. With approximately 40 athletes turning out for the first day of tryouts, the team is excited for the season. Senior Joshua Sidare is excited for what the team can bring to the table.

“This team has the heart and the potential talent to be something special and to start off our newly founded program on the right foot,” Sidare said.

The team is still a little rough around the edges, but with hard work, they have the potential to be great. Sidare is confident in the team because of their quick turn arounds during practice.

“I was truly impressed about how several players immediately bounced back from a mistake they had and put the effort into fixing what they did wrong,” Sidare said.

According to Sidare, the team has a lot of work to do before the season is fully underway, but they are up for the challenge.
