Kylie Cosmetics: The New Shades Released

New matte lip colors via Kylie Jenner are a hit.

Kylie Jenner has become a well-known celebrity, but not just for her family’s hit reality television show. She now has her own brand of cosmetics, and they have officially taken over. Jenner first announced her cosmetic line, “Kylie Cosmetics,” in 2015, and when they were released, they sold out in less than ten minutes. Her lip kits were a complete success; people were obsessed with the high pigmentation and the long lasting effect. Ever since her first release, her cosmetic line was a hit.

On Aug. 24, Jenner revealed on her Snapchat that she was releasing three brand new matte lip kits on Friday, Aug. 26. The new shade names are “Love Bite,” “Dirty Peach” and “Brown Sugar.” She also restocked some of her past lip colors. The shade colors are relatively similar to some of her past shades, with “Love Bite” being a lighter version of “Kourt K,” and “Brown Sugar” a lighter version of “True Brown K.”

Kylie Cosmetics has been very successful in releasing new makeup, with new products selling out almost instantly. The website has completely shut down from over thousands of people trying to buy the products at once. Her birthday special sold out in less than one minute. Her lip kits, however, have slowed down on the instant selling out factor.

A couple of months ago when Jenner had a new lip kit release, many people complained that the applicator in the lip sticks/glosses were completely messed up. Some time later, Better Business Bureau gave Jenner’s cosmetic line an “F” rating.

“I’ve sold millions of lip kits and any complaint we’ve received to date has been addressed in a timely matter,” Jenner stated on her Instagram soon after.

Since the incident, many people have backlashed against her cosmetic line and brand, resulting in a loss of customers.

Her three new shades were released at 12:00 p.m. PST on Aug. 26. After having been out for over an hour, they did not sell out like her previous shades. Kylie Cosmetics has been quite successful, but the hype has certainly died down.
