JV Profile: Kaitlynn Stay
Basketball is a sport that requires a lot of stamina and that is why sophomore Kaitlynn Stay trained so hard during this past fall season. She focuses on bettering herself at basketball by going to camps and by practicing in her driveway daily. It’s now her time and her season.
Stay is on the girls JV basketball team for this five-month-long winter season. She started playing basketball in sixth grade at Antioch Upper Grade School and also joined the Juniot Sequoits feeder basketball program that year as well. This allowed her to get more experience leading into her high school career.
As soon as Stay picked up the basketball at her first practice, she’s never seemed to be able put it down. She explained the game may have its challenges, but those challenges make her try even harder to get better everyday. She thinks that as long as their team works together this season, that they will do pretty well.
“I just really hope to better myself so that I can get more playing time and hopefully that me and my teammates can grow and get better together as a team,” Stay said.
Stay plans to keep playing basketball throughout high school and hopes she can make it up to varsity next year as a junior.
