Improve the Body’s Health: Carry a Water Bottle
More than likely, Sequoits aren’t drinking as much water as they should.
Are Sequoits drinking enough water? Much like the rest of the country, the answer is probably no. According to Medical Daily, up to 75% of Americans may suffer from chronic dehydration. In a country that has more clean water readily available than many others, this should not be occurring.
The easiest way to remember to drink water? Carry around a water bottle. Rather than wasting plastic water bottles, which put an enormous strain on not only resources but the planet as well, people should by long-lasting shatter-proof glass bottles or stainless steel bottles which can be rinsed and reused. Here are four reasons that this can benefit everyone.
1. Drinking water can help with weight loss.
According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately 70% of adult Americans are overweight or obese. Drinking water can help with that. It can prevent hunger pangs and random cravings as well as increasing metabolism. Having water on hand can also prevent a person from being tempted by other drinks like soda.
2. Drinking water can improve skin health.
Although it’s the largest organ in the body, some people can forget to take care of their skin. Regular water consumption can improve texture, elasticity and fullness of the skin. Staying hydrated also allows the body to function as it needs when exercise occurs.
3. Drinking water can improve the health of one’s joints.
Water can help the cartridge in joints stay soft and pliable, allowing joints to function properly and without pain.
4. Drinking water can prevent headaches and memory loss.
It’s a proven fact that dehydration causes extreme headaches as well as memory loss. According to Medical News Today, “Dehydration occurs when more water and fluids leave the body than enter it. Even low levels of dehydration can cause headaches, lethargy and constipation.” The body needs a balance of fluids to maintain functionality.
While lack of water may appear to be a problem occurring in the summer, it can also happen in the winter and be a dangerous affliction. Drinking a sufficient amount of water is important no matter what time of year it is.
