HSM Reunion Splashes onto Disney Channel
Wildcats reunite ten years later, minus Troy Bolton.
Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel came together to reminisce on their “High School Musical” acting years last Wednesday, January 20.
Speaking for most high schoolers now, and even younger, it was thrilling to see most of the main cast members back together again.
“I was very excited that it was a thing, but I was upset Zac Efron wasn’t apart of it,” junior Gretchen Wagner said. “That was definitely a bummer.”
But for some, especially for biology and physics teacher Robert Schrader, weren’t feeling the same excitement. Schrader claims to “not care at all” about the reunion.
These three movies have also changed outlooks and reputations of the typical high school experience.
Senior Candace Nelson can vouch for the important lessons “High School Musical” has taught her.
“I really liked it because I believe in the unification of just like individuals, just one big happy family,” Nelson said. “Growing up watching ‘High School Musical’ really taught me a valuable lesson on unification.”
During the reunion, as past cast members recollected their memories and the film’s legacy, Monique Coleman, also known as Taylor McKessie, surprised her “High School Musical” friends with their old audition tapes. She even confessed a real life infatuation with fellow friend and actor Corbin Bleu, known to many “High School Musical” fans as Chad Danforth.
Since “High School Musical” holds a special place in many teens hearts, any mention of Gabriella or tune of “We’re all in this together” will get any fan singing on the top of their lungs.
