Many use icing to decorate their sugar cookies, but sprinkles can add a different color and texture to the cookie.
Ingredients:
2 ¾ cups Flour
1 teaspoonBaking Soda
½ teaspoonBaking Powder
1 cup Butter
1 ½ cups Sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Food coloring (color of your choice)
Directions:
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Add sugar and butter in a bowl to make a cream
Add the egg and vanilla to mixture, mix until well combined
Slowly mix baking powder, baking soda, and flour together.
Place dough on wax paper, rolling it into a log about 2-2 ½ in in diameter
Cut log in half and refrigerate up to 30 mins in refrigerator
Color sugar with food coloring of your choice and spread it onto a piece of wax paper
Roll the log into the sugar, making sure to coat the entire outside
Cut ¼ in slices and place on non-greased cookie sheet
Bake for 8-10 mins, or until edges are lightly browned
