How To: Homemade Sugar Cookies (Great Grandma’s Recipe)
Easy to make, quick to bake.
Ingredients:
- 2 ¾ cups Flour
- 1 teaspoonBaking Soda
- ½ teaspoonBaking Powder
- 1 cup Butter
- 1 ½ cups Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- Food coloring (color of your choice)
Directions:
- Preheat oven 350 degrees
- Add sugar and butter in a bowl to make a cream
- Add the egg and vanilla to mixture, mix until well combined
- Slowly mix baking powder, baking soda, and flour together.
- Place dough on wax paper, rolling it into a log about 2-2 ½ in in diameter
- Cut log in half and refrigerate up to 30 mins in refrigerator
- Color sugar with food coloring of your choice and spread it onto a piece of wax paper
- Roll the log into the sugar, making sure to coat the entire outside
- Cut ¼ in slices and place on non-greased cookie sheet
- Bake for 8-10 mins, or until edges are lightly browned
