How To: Homemade Chocolate Chip Banana Bread (Personal Recipe)

Banana bread can be made in many different ways, but this recipe has been in my family for many years. It is the perfect dessert and can be for any occasion.

“[The banana bread] is very moist and the chocolate is very savoring. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend trying it,” junior Jessica Tanner said.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 stick of margarine
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 medium-sized bananas (very ripe)
  • ½ a bag of chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon Banana extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 310 degrees Fahrenheit 
  2. Soften butter and margarine at room temperature and add to mixing bowl
  3. Add sugar to bowl and mix well
  4. Add two eggs to mixture while continuously stirring
  5. Cut bananas in half and add to mixing bowl, combining well
  6. Add baking soda, baking powder, and salt to bowl
  7. Pour in vanilla extract and banana extract while mixing
  8. Add flour and slowly mix together
  9. Spray a loaf pan using Baker’s Joy
  10. Add ½ in. of batter to pan
  11. Add chocolate chips to mixing bowl, slowly combining together
  12. Pour the rest of the batter into the pan
  13. Sprinkle sugar onto the top layer of the batter
  14. Bake for 75 minutes, or until top is brown and crusty
