A few quick solutions to help teens with their skin.
More stories from Alex Johnson
It’s no secret that a lot of teens have excessively oily skin and are suffering from the effects. It seems impossible to find a solution considering every skin type is unique to each person, however there are a few ways to calm the skin and keep the excess oil at bay.
Blotting sheets
These are a quick and easy fix when you are feeling extra oily. They are fairly inexpensive and can be picked up at just about any Walmart or Walgreens.
Face masks
Face masks can have great long-term effects if they are used up to three times a week. There are a multitude of different faces masks for each skin type that can really make a difference if used routinely.
Moisturizer
Moisturizer should be in everyone’s daily routine because even oily skin can get dry too. Moisturizing can also help prevent your skin from creating anymore oil by calming it.
Oil free makeup
This one is pretty self explanatory, but it is incredibly important to check what is used to make all of your makeup. Makeup can easily get into pores which is why understanding what you put onto your skin is important.
Sun protection
Keeping your face protected from the harmful radiation of the sun can also stop your face from creating excess oil and it can be used in place of moisturizer on summer days.
Learn about your skin type
It’s a good idea to do a little bit of research on your skin type to know which products to use. It might also be helpful to experiment with different skin care products until you find the one that is just right for your type of skin.
