PREVIEW: Home Court Advantage
The ACHS boys basketball team takes on Lakes
The Sequoits boys basketball team takes on their rivals, the Lakes Eagles on the night of Thursday, February 22 on their home floor in the ACHS North Gym. Freshmen and JV start at 5:30 p.m and the Varsity game begins at 7 p.m. Rivalry games can be especially fun to watch and play in. They tend to get more intense and competitive than most other games throughout the season.
“Playing our rival is fun because the game is a challenge and we enjoy playing hard teams that put up a fight,” freshman basketball player Jackson Gutke said.
Not only is it a rivalry game, but it is also the last game for both the freshmen and JV teams, as well as the last regular season game for varsity before regionals begin.
“I feel like we will play our hardest because it is our last game,” Gutke said. “We will practice hard and do game type situations in practice to be prepared.”
This will be the last regular season game of the year before the boys have an opening round of IHSA Regionals play-in game.
