Holiday Light’s Coming Soon To ACHS
‘Tis the season to prepare for a holiday concert.
This season, orchestra is embracing a true holiday spirit. The fine arts department is hosting two holiday shows: Holiday Lights and their annual holiday concert.
At the holiday concert, the orchestra is planning to perform “The Polar Express” in full orchestra. One of their most difficult numbers yet.
“We’ve been working on it since October,” said junior Emily Voykin. “It’s a really hard song, but it’s going to sound great.”
The winter concert will also showcase various instruments that aren’t normally seen, including the electric violin, guitar and bass. Voykin says they are prepared to show their full potential.
“I think we’re all pretty much ready,” said Voykin. “Not quite yet, but to the point where we could perform in a few weeks and it would sound great.”
The other winter fine arts show is Holiday Lights, a winter talent show. In this, fine arts students can pick with whom and what they perform.
“[Holiday Lights] is kind of a bigger event because there are more kids expressing their talents,” said Voykin.
Holiday Lights will be hosted in the commons Saturday, Dec. 5 and the winter concert on Thursday, Dec. 10 in the auditorium.
