The volleyball girls gather for a timeout during the intense game.

The lady Sequoits kept their fans on the edge of their seats, but lost both matches of their set against Wauconda. The first match kept all the fans on their heels due to the score being a one point difference, but eventually the Bulldogs were able to pull away and win 20-25.  With great athleticism both teams were leading the court to another neck and neck match. Again though the Bulldogs were able to pull away at the end and finish 22-25.

“Offense and defense did their job,” junior Katherine Barr said. “We had excellent teamwork and weren’t gonna go down easy. The girls definitely came to play.”

Barr is one of the many players blocking everything Wauconda threw at the Sequoits.

Another player putting up a fight and blocking with force that would make you question if the Wauconda girls were breaking bones was senior Victoria Schultz.

“Overall it all came down to the mental mistakes.” Schultz said. “It was easy things to fix, but we have to keep our heads high if we want to win.”

This match truly was one to see one that kept the fans guessing. According to the lady Sequoits they are off to a great start and are confident they will have one of the best seasons they have ever had if they can get over and fix the mental mistakes.
