On the quiet, mild afternoon in Antioch, the gym was getting ready for the Girls Volleyball team to take the floor at against Wauconda.

The Sequoits started off slow, but quickly got back in the game. However, it was too late to where the Sequoits fell to the Bulldogs in the first game.

Coach Jamie Atkinson said, “We made so many of our own errors. We made a ton. We didn’t even get blocked once. We got aced 7 or 8 times and we were still in the game.”

The Sequoits couldn’t get out of the hole that they dug. Senior Hannah Skoog’s serving was not enough. In the second game Wauconda took the victory with a second game score of 20-25.

Atkinson said, “You can’t win if you give up. You can’t give up before the score hits 25.”

The final score of the Wauconda competition was 22-25, 20-25.
