Sequoit girls volleyball unfortunately lost the long three match regional final battle to Regina Dominican Thursday, Oct. 29. The girls were victorious as they won the first match 25-19. However, the girls were unable to capitalize on their serves and side-outs as Regina came back in the next two close matches, 25-22 and 25-23.
“I think we played the best we could have, we just fell short from the win and didn’t receive the outcome we wanted. I don’t think we could have prepared any more to prevent the loss,” said senior Toree Briggs.
The girls gave it their all and never stopped playing their hardest. Even when behind, the girls fought to block every ball.
“We are such a strong team and we played our hearts out tonight,” said Senior Emily Quinnet.
Unfortunately for some seniors, this game was the last time the girls would step foot on the court to represent their school.
“It’s sad to realize that it’s over and a big part of my life is now done with but I’m glad I ended it with the team I love and it has left me with some of the best people I have ever met,” said Briggs
Although the team’s seaon ended, they went out swinging and definitely left everything out on the court.
