    Girls track has 9 events rewarded with all conference.

    Girls Varsity track made May 5. a night to remember. Overall the ladies took 8th out of 14 teams. The girls demonstrated hard work and talent as 9 events made all conference.

    “Leading up to conference our team really focused on putting our best effort into each practice and getting as much out of it as we possibly could,” said Senior Anna Arden.

    For field events, seniors Sabrina Long for shot put and Mikayla Christian for discuss were rewarded all conference. Also senior Jatiyah Childs took home 5th for long jump.

    The Sequoits showered their corporative running as all three relays finished with a victorious night. First the 4×100 team took home 4th place. The team consisted of Anna Arden, Childs, Alexis Duehr and Amanda Rowe. The girls finished with a personal best time of 51.2 seconds.  Then in the 4×2 of Amber Phillips. Amanda Rowe, Alexis Duehr and Miranda Karellas took 5th making all conference.  As the night came close to an end, it seemed as the if the night could not get any better. Then the final event, the 4×4. Anna Arden, Amber Phillips, Rachel Phillips and Elisa Porkorny made school history as the broke the 4×4 school record with a 4:09.12 only .02 away from state.

    “Beating the record felt absolutely amazing, before we ran the girls and I felt really nervous while we warming up, but by the time we finished it felt completely well earned, we left everything we had out on the track.” said Arden.

    For single running events, Anna Arden took 3rd in the 300 meeter hurdles archiving all conference again. For her first time running in the open 400, Rachel Philips earned all conference with a time of 1:02.
