Girls Cross Country Falls Short in their Second Conference Meet

The girls faced a tough loss to Grant and Grayslake Central, but continue to improve overall as a team.

The Sequoit girls cross country team took a hard loss to both Grant and Grayslake Central on September 20. The girls have been working rigorously each day to keep improving, and to perform to their full potential each meet.

Sophmore Natalie Hill is exceeding Antioch’s expectations, while only being a second year runner Hill placed sixth in the race, behind Grant and Grayslake Centrals top runners. Last week, the girls placed ninth to finish their meet in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Hill placed thirteenth out of the 21 schools that came and participated at the meet.

“We need to start running to our full potential,” Lauryn Hugener said. “I love running, and the girls on the team. No matter the outcome of our meets, I will keep continuing to run. As the weather gets cooler, I enjoy running even more.”

After looking over key aspects of girls cross country team Hugener will continue to run as fast as she can, while having a good time along the way.
