Girls Cross Country Crushes the Competition
The Sequoits ended their conference season with a well-earned win.
The girls cross country team gained a victory on October 3, with a 22-50 win against the North Chicago Red Hawks and the Wauconda Bulldogs. Both Sequoit cross country teams ended their conference season with a win. The girls with a record of 5-2, and the boys went undefeated with a record of 7-0.
Coach Bailey helped the girls strategize the difficult course prior to the game.
“The course was very difficult and I didn’t have a plan going into the race, but I paced myself with my other teammates and pushed until the finish to have a great race,” sophomore Allison Kane said. Kane went on to place 15th with a time of 24:27.
Junior Natalie Hill pushed herself during the meet and placed first with a quick time of 20:15.
“I felt great about how I did today because I ran really strong the whole race,” Hill said.
The girls are going to be preparing throughout the week for their upcoming invitational on October 7 at 9:00 a.m. at Heritage Park.
