The girls fought hard to the very last pin, but just came up short. Although the Lady Sequoit bowlers lost to Libertyville, they still made their senior night memorable.
“It felt so nice to be treated the way I was by my teammates,” senior Erin Koch said. “I have been on the team all four years and I couldn’t have asked for a better night from my wonderful teammates.”
The team honored their senior bowlers Koch, Hyacinthe Ingram and Taylor Vickers by giving the girls each a pin engraved with their names. Also each girl received a teddy bear and a poster with a picture of them on it. The gifts showed the underclassmen’s appreciation to their senior leaders.
“I think I can speak for everyone on the team from the freshman to the juniors when I say that we are going to miss our seniors so much,” junior Kaitlin Sommerfelt said. “They have impacted the team in a way I never thought three girls could.”
With Regionals right around the corner, the team is preparing with hard work and striving for a win.
“We are practicing everyday and we are working together as a team in order to be the best we can,” Koch said. “Conference is next Friday and we are hoping a win there will launch our team forward into a great regional.”
Bowling also competed Saturday at the Rockford Guilford Holiday Tournament.
