Girls Basketball Easily Defeats Amundsen
The Sequoits destroyed Amundsen High School last night 74-14 and continued their road to state.
The Sequoits went on the road Tuesday night to Amundsen High School for the first game of regionals. The hour-long bus ride was worth it; the girls won their game 74-14.
“Going into the game we felt confident,” senior Rebecca Cleven said. “Knowing that we were the number one seed did not stop us from making sure we still played just as hard.”
The Sequoits had clean passes and worked the ball around the defense until an open shot was available. The Sequoits had many top scorers, like Piper Foote with 12 and Skylar Delaro with 13. The Sequoits have been very strong this season with a record of 19-3.
“Our season has been going great,” Cleven said. “I feel like that we can keep up the hard work and make it to the super sectional game if we play like we have been all season.”
The Sequoits have been striving to reach state since the first day of try-outs. The Sequoits next game is at Resurrection at 7 p.m.
