Yoga is an extremely great way to appreciate oneself. It is yoga practice not yoga perfect, so there is always room to grow.

“Yoga is relaxing because the environment is so full of life and positive vibes,” senior Sydney Kraus said. “The energy makes you feel so alive and relaxed at the same time.”

With such a positive mantra in every session, there is a class fit for everyone. Trillium Yoga, in downtown Antioch, has tons of classes to offer from a beginners class to a Vinyasa Flow. If those are too much, there are restorative classes, too. This means that the poses are all very static and supported by props.

“My new favorite pose is the headstand because I have been working really hard and accomplished it. I also like pigeon pose because I get a good relaxing stretch,” Kraus said.

Yoga is a great way to get away from life for a little while and enjoy time for oneself. It’s refreshing how time away from technology and the stress of everyday life can make someone feel.

“It’s a very good way to relieve stress and any negative feelings or emotions that have built up inside [of] you,” Kraus said. “When I leave I have a positive outlook and appreciation for my life and myself.”

Essential oils are used towards the end of classes in Shavasana (laying on one’s back and focusing on the breath) to help the yogis relax. They are extremely powerful and add a little something special to each yoga class. At the end there is bowl for inspiration, which is incredibly heartwarming and thoughtful.
