Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: “I enjoy fishing. I just rebuilt a boat from complete disrepair [and it is ready for] fishing. I also enjoy being outside, between camping, hiking and fishing.”
Q: What are some of your favorite classes?
A: “Adventure Ed is definitely my favorite by far, we go out to Peacock Camp and participate in many different activities such as fishing in kayaks, paddle boarding, canoeing, shelter building, rock climbing and different variations of that, even fire building. It’s nice to be outdoors and enjoy this class. Percussion is another fun class, something about getting to school at 8 a.m. and banging on some drums just makes me feel good. I also enjoy the state walks we do with the athletes that go to state. Going through the hall and getting everyone hyped up is one of my favorite parts of the day.”
Q: What is your favorite thing about percussion?
A: “Definitely the aspect of us being one big family, I enjoy when we are together practicing as an ensemble, we work out the kinks together and are always welcoming to the new students. I also enjoy Wednesdays when the Percussion Instructor comes in, and teaches us new rhythms, and rudiments.”
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: “I am planning on attending the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point majoring in Conservation Law Enforcement. My dream job is to be working somewhere in the United States serving as a DNR officer or Gamewarden.”
Q: What is the most interesting thing about you?
A: “Not a lot of people know, but I have been in Scouting since first grade, I got my Arrow of Light and eventually worked my way up to the highest rank in Boy Scouts, Eagle Scout back in 2019.”
Q: Was it difficult to become an Eagle Scout?
A: “Yes, it is a lot of work between leadership, service hours and basic knowledge. One of the requirements to earn Eagle is to plan and lead an Eagle Project. Back on Memorial Day weekend in 2019, I lead my scout troop and some others in building 2 gaga ball pits. One you may recognize is by the bike path in Antioch.”
Q: If you had the opportunity to meet a famous person, who would it be?
A: “Jermey Wade, he is the host of the show River Monsters, I have always wanted to meet him.”
Q: If you had $100,000.00, what would you buy?
A: “I would first go through and pay off my college, then I would probably take the rest of the money and buy a nice boat.”
Q: If you had any advice to an incoming freshman, what would it be?
A: “Definitely join extracurricular activities, get involved with the school. I have made so many friends through events and games I have gone to.”
Q: Where would your favorite place to live be?
A: “Somewhere in the mountains. I haven’t been to the Rockies yet, but they are on my list. I loved the Smoky mountains before they burned down, and I am hoping to go back.”
