“10 Things I Hate About You”:
If you want to smile, this 1999 romantic comedy starring Heath Ledger (Patrick Verona) and Julia Stiles (Kat Stratford) is perfect for you. This film was influenced by the Shakespearean play, “The Taming of the Shrew.” Julia Stiles plays a witty, smart, but annoying teenager. Due to her abrasiveness she does not attract much attention, yet. In addition, she has a sister, Bianca, played by Larisa Oleynik, who is not allowed to date until she does. She crosses paths with this one guy and might let her guard down, but will this charming guy last? This movie can be found on Disney+.
“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”:
If you want to laugh, the 1986 teen comedy starring Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller), Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye) and Mia Sara (Sloane Peterson). Ferris wants to cut class one day before graduation, so he and his friends take a trip to Chicago. They embark on a one-day adventure that takes many different turns, all while Ferris attempts to keep his journey a secret by calling in sick. “Hop”:
If you are in the mood for an easter movie, this 2011 comedy starring James Marsden (Fred O’Hare) and Russell Brand (EB) is a great family movie that goes behind the scenes of Easter. EB has no interest in his job of becoming the easter bunny, so he runs away to Los Angeles where he meets Fred. While EB is in LA an oversized chick takes over the Easter Island factory. “Bee Movie”:
If you need a cute family movie, this 2007 animated comedy is about a bee who is fresh out of college and is determining what he wants to pursue in his future. While searching for a job, he notices that a few bees get to leave the hive to collect pollen for a job. He obtains the job and flies out of the hive for the first time, curious of what the outside world is like. He breaks the cardinal rule and meets a flower shop owner and they become friends, but he also figures out that humans are stealing his honey; he begins pursuing justice for the honey that humans have been stealing. “Blended”:
If you are not taking a trip for spring break and you need to escape reality for a few hours, this film stars Drew Barrymore (Lauren Reynolds) and Adam Sandler (Jim Friedman) as two single parents who meet on a blind date. They end up hating each other, but have mutual friends that break up and each give them their share of a trip to Africa. Not knowing both of their families are going on the international trip, they realize they were given a familymoon trip by their friend and have to share the same suite and participate in activities together throughout the entire trip.
