The ACHS field hockey team lost a tough match to Glenbard West this last Tuesday. The lady Sequoits showed strong defense but just didn’t have enough left in the tank to get the ball out of their defensive end. Junior Julia Murillo and sophomore Karina Steitz explained some struggles and some positives of Tuesday’s game.
“Communication, moving, and hustle,” Murillo said.
“The entire team could’ve talked more and hustled [more]” Steitz said.
It was very quiet on the sidelines and on the field when the lady Sequoits were playing Glenbard West. The person that was continuously talking was head coach Terry Dewing. We asked Dewing about some positives and negatives of Tuesday’s game.
“When we got the ball on our attack half, that was a positive,” Dewing said. “A negative was that I was missing two starting players, which hurts us.”
Although the Sequoits did lose a tough one, players and coaches are looking forward to the upcoming season and are in happy spirits.
