Field Hockey Beats Naperville
With strong efforts from all over the field, the Lady Sequoits come out on top Wednesday night in a shootout thriller.
During the Varsity field hockey game both teams in this shootout thriller made the game a nail biter all the way until the final seconds. After going all the way to the end of regulation time scoreless, both teams stayed on their A-games keeping the game scoreless through a 10 minute long over time. This led to a shootout where junior Julia Murillo and sophomore Carolyn Miller both scored goals leading the Lady Sequoits to a 2-1 victory over Naperville. According to Miller, the Sequoits have drastically improved on working as a team.
“Our team definitely has improved on working together,” Miller said. “We have great leaders that bring us together.”
The thick grass field posed as an obstacle to the Sequoits.
“The grass fields did affect our game,” Miller said. “We adjusted it and were able to succeed as a team.”
The Lady Sequoits are hoping to see more hustle and dedication on the field as the season goes on.
