Fast Food Hacks
Five ways to get the most food for your money at local fast food restaurants.
1) Save $2.50 at McDonald’s by getting a double hamburger with no mustard or ketchup, but with lettuce and special sauce (or any other toppings wanted), as a makeshift Big Mac. It will not include the sesame bun, but it cuts the price in half.
2) Customize any smoothie at Jamba Juice for no extra charge. It is free to substitute any ingredients in the recipe for another.
“I’m really picky when it comes to food, so hearing that Jamba Juice gives me the option to substitute out any ingredients is really great,” senior Sarah Schwantner said.
3) Get an extra meal out of a burrito bowl at Chipotle by getting an extra tortilla or taco shells on the side. The extra taco shells or tortilla will be of cost, just ask. Also, extra rice is free of charge if customers would like to bulk up their orders.
4) Ordering two Junior Roast Beef Sandwiches at Arby’s is a much better deal than ordering the Classic Roast Beef Sandwich. Customers will save about $1.19, and will also get more food with this lower price.
5) Panera Bread offers free samples of anything customers would like to try; customers just need to let the cashier know.
“The first time I went to Panera, I didn’t know what to get so the cashier offered me some samples,” senior Tim Otter said. “They let me try a couple of the soups and even one the sandwiches, which was really nice.”
