Everyone knows history repeats itself at times. Even if it’s a specific fashion trend, they always seem to creep their way back to the top again. Some trends from the 90s are starting to make a comeback in today’s 2016 fashion.

Dark colored lipsticks have made their way back into summer, fall and winter fashion. The deep brown, purple and red colors were a big trend in the 1920s and 30s. Nude and orange colors were a big trend during the 90s as well.

Big curls and buns have been around for as long as we can remember. 1920s girls would decorate their hair buns with jewels or put flowers in their hair. Dutch braids and scrunchies are also being worn more with today’s fashion.

“Velvet is coming back into style, and I see a lot of chokers and baggy clothing too,” junior Savannah Ray said.

Crop tops were big during the 80s, thanks to Madonna, who was one of the few pop stars who wore them and got the trend going. From T-shirts to tank tops, crop tops are found in almost every style now. During the 90s, denim jackets and high waisted jeans went perfectly with teased hair, and now these pieces of fashion can be worn from casual wear to high fashion clothing.

It’s weird to think some of the fashion trends coming back are what parents or even grandparents used to wear in their high school days. Who knew that less than 20 years later trends that fizzled out are now being reborn in fashion once again.
