Fall is a time full of colorful leaves, cool breeze and seasonal treats. A great place to visit during this time is the Little Bean Coffee Company. Little Bean is a fan favorite coffee shop in downtown Antioch where many people love to grab a bite to eat, sip on some coffee and chat with friends. The café is known for its delicious goodies and inviting atmosphere.
“Little Bean strives to be a welcoming and inclusive place,” Owner Angela Burns said. “We consider ourselves a third space, a place that is not home or work where you can be social.”
As the trees fill with color, there are many new items on the menu to satisfy the taste of fall. The top selling seasonal drink currently is ‘Basic Witches’, a pumpkin vanilla chai with bold flavor. It is recommended to add a shot of espresso if an energy boost is needed. Senior Reese Igou loves to get Little Bean during fall because of how good the food and drinks are.
“I really enjoy the ambiance of the little shop, and I go there all the time to focus on homework or study,” Igou said. “The people are always welcoming and are all so sweet. They always make sure that you’re taken care of.”
The aesthetic of Little Bean changes depending on the season, but the one thing that never changes are the people behind the counter. There is a lot of work put in towards new specials, hosting events and getting involved with the community. One big event Little Bean offers are monthly meet ups to grab a drink, open a book, and socialize with others.
“We appreciate every person that comes in our door, love sharing a cup of coffee with someone and turning regular customers into friends,” Burns said.
Whether it is catching up with an old friend or quietly getting some work done, Little Bean is a great place to relax and unwind. That is what makes it the ‘perfect blend of coffee, food and friends’.
