Antioch Community High School (ACHS) has been named an exemplary school by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). The ISBE provides every public school in the state of Illinois with an annual report card in order to identify underperforming schools. In order to be considered exemplary, schools must perform in the top ten percent of all public schools in the state, have a graduation rate higher than 67 percent, be eligible for an IL-EMPOWER Learning Partner application along with other qualifications. ACHS principal Eric Hamilton spoke about the report.
“It is a credit to the staff and the students,” Hamilton said. “The hard work and effort that students have put in and that staff have put in working with the kids…it’s just tremendous, and it’s paying off as recognized by the state.”
