Airing on HBO Max every Sunday night at 9 p.m EST, “Euphoria” is shown. Season two of “Euphoria” aired on Jan. 9, and fans could not wait for the first episode. According to Digital Spy, the show will air weekly with eight episodes until Feb 27.
This HBO Max drama shows a group of high school students as they experience various problems in their teenage years. Teenagers may find the show entertaining because they are not living their years like that. Season one aired on June 16, 2019, and the show went viral because of the plot and the actors themselves.
Some of the actors in the show include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeny, Jacob Elordi and Alexa Demie. Though some had their name in the industry before its premiere, others gained their reputation from “Euphoria.”
Sophomore Sam Roffle thinks the characters fit perfectly into the show even though they may not look the age they are in the show.
“Some of the characters don’t look like they are the appropriate age for the show based on being in high school, but they play it superbly,” Roffle said. “They are a cast who perform amazingly and their cast is also diverse.”
Fans of “Euphoria” are even interested in how the actors found their roles; Junior Emily Kaluzinski enjoys the interviews to find out that information.
“After the episode is over, they show an interview with one of the actors, and they talk about their own experiences with the character that they play in the show,” Kaluzinski said. “I feel like the role is truly based on their own experiences, and on the screen and off they truly relate to their character.”
The show can deal with sensitive issues, which the actors present clearly to their fans; with such sensitive topics, they can make one fall into the show more. People can relate to what is happening in the show because they can also be going through similar situations.
With “Euphoria” broadcasting such sensitive topics, it can make people feel like they are living in the show themselves. Senior Hadde Luebke feels like “Euphoria” is an altered universe.
“The show touches on everything a teen could experience emotionally or physically,” Luebke said. “They give people a sense of calmness and that they are not alone in what they are facing.”
The only way to watch “Euphoria” is on HBO Max or with a premium subscription to Hulu. It may be a problem for some who want to watch “Euphoria;” some think it should be expanded to other platforms.
“It’s bringing money to HBO Max, and if it was expanded into other streaming services, they would lose money.” Roffle said.
Though for some people it is hard to watch the beloved show, they may find a way. “Euphoria” is a show that people can relate to immensely where they love the people involved in it. The next episode will be airing on Jan. 30 at 9 p.m EST.
