ENTERTAINMENT TUESDAY: The Bucket List
Two men, one bucket list.
The Bucket List, a 2007 film directed by Rob Reiner pitted two experienced actors in the lead roles. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman attempting to continue both of their prosperous careers with this glory film. Following Edward Cole (Nicholson) in his disappointing, wealthy life when plagued with a fatal cancer and admitted to his own hospital he meets Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common. Conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they kick the bucket and a desire to discover what kind of men they really are. But one can’t accomplish such lofty objectives from the confines of a hospital bed, so now, in order to live their lives to the absolute fullest Edward and Carter will have to make a break for it. Chambers sets the two men on a beautiful journey to find the meaning of life; visiting the poker tables in Monte Carlo, consuming copious amounts of caviar, racing the fastest machines on four wheels and much more all occur in this beautiful journey to depict the true meaning of life and what truly matters.
