Drive-In Movie Theaters Still Classic in Students’ Eyes

The drive-in movie theater was created in the 1930’s and has been around ever since. Since then it has become a popular hang-out for teens and families alike.

The drive-in theater has always been a popular destination for dates and simply hanging out with friends. The speaker on the window and the privacy of sitting with just friends in a car is a great way to hang out in a large location but still be somewhat alone.

Many students today can be found sitting in the back of a pick-up truck with friends (and sometimes a couch) watching the latest movie to come to theaters. The atmosphere of the outdoor theater is more social and party-like compared to the traditional movie theater. This draws many students in.

While the idea of a drive-in movie theater is an older idea, students still feel that it is more fun than an indoor theater. The added bonus of seeing two movies instead of one is a nice perk. The idea of staying out late with friends is even better.
