Students and administrators weigh in on the state of the Tom Tom.
September 18, 2014
The Tom Tom has been a part of Antioch Community High School for over 50 years. A select number of students every year are chosen to be in the Tom Tom. To be selected into this class is an honor and if you’re not willing to go 100 percent all the time, you will definitely not make the cut. Yet, despite the prominence and privilege of joining the program, how do those outside of it feel the Tom Tom is serving the ACHS community?
A goal of the Tom Tom is to satisfy the readers. Whether it’s the students, teachers or administrators, the Tom Tom attempts to entertain them as readers.
Dean Patricia McGuigan said, “I believe the Tom Tom is doing an absolutely wonderful job with the newspaper…and I love the wide spectrum of topics discussed in the newspaper and the student involvement with the Tom Tom.”
Students believe the Tom Tom is at the top of its game lately from winning various awards to continuing to satisfy their readers.
As Junior Tyler Thorton says, “They present and show off their work very well and I believe the Tom Tom is doing better than ever.”
