In an article from New York CNN Business, Elon Musk, CEO and product architect of Tesla, said that he is certain Tesla cars will have the ability to drive themselves by the end of the year if regulators allow it.

Most of the cars already have a mode called autopilot which gives the car the ability to auto steer, brake and the ability to stay in the correct lane on the highway. In a podcast conducted by the Firm, which is a Tesla shareholder, Elon Musk stated that this year, the car will be able to find people in a parking lot, pick them up and take them to their destination without any intervention. The question of whether or not these cars will be safe for the roads is brought up.

The advocates of highway safety say that the vehicles won’t have enough ways to detect obstacles that may be on the roads. Tesla’s autopilot safety data may not be as conclusive as the company claims. All of these new features will be in the Tesla model three.

Junior Paige Bolton is a big fan of Tesla cars and is really interested in the new feature called dog mode.

“Tesla is coming out with a new feature called dog safety mode,” Bolton said. “Basically, when the owner leaves a pet in the car, the car automatically cools itself down and displays the temperature on the giant touch screen in the middle of the dashboard. On the screen, it displays ‘dog mode’ and tells bystanders nearby that the owner will be right back and that the car is at a safe temperature.”

Along with all the new features Tesla is producing, they are also losing money, even to a point of possible bankruptcy. According to Musk, Tesla started becoming bankrupt during the production of the model three. Not only is Tesla threatening their own company, but they are also threatening other companies by not providing the abilities to supply them products.

Musk doesn’t believe that the company is going to become bankrupt, but many Tesla workers are worried. As of now, Musk has stated that the company is secure and doing well. Clearly, the company is enhancing their technology for some of the new features and many are looking forward to what will come next.
