Dancers Shine Bright Starting Nov. 11

Approaching the one year anniversary of a tragic accident, Robin Parfitt, wife and mother of the deceased Todd and Nicole Parfitt, made extreme changes in her life. In just a short year, Robin created and opened her own dance studio in remembrance of her daughter.

Shine Bright Dance Studio slowly came into the works during the summer of 2013. Ideas were bounced around, teachers were sought out and plans were made. A fundraiser was held Aug. 3 in Nicole’s honor, complete with an auction, dinner and dance performances, to raise money for the prospective studio. The classes were up and running starting in October, despite the studio not being ready to open its doors officially.

All through October, dancers of various ages attended classes in the Parfitt household. Classes including jazz, ballet, hip hop and modern took place in the basement of the Parfitt home. Dances were choreographed and taught without delay.

The actual location of the studio can be seen from Route 173, across from Antioch Lanes, at 880 Tiffany Rd. The studio will be open for use on Nov. 11. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Nov. 10 for the studio teachers and members as a special dedication to the girl who inspired it all.
