The Cubs improved their record to 28-10 in a 13 inning winning game against the Milwaukee Brewers late Tuesday night. Providing excitement throughout the night, Pitcher Travis Wood improved his record to 2-0 as he activated a bases-loaded walk off, pushing the Cubs towards a win against the opposing team.

Although shortstop player Addison Russell hit into a ground out during the top of the eighth inning, he later drove in a run which tied up the game at 2-1. With the bases loaded in the top of the 13th inning, Brewers pitcher Carlos Torres walked Travis Wood to give the Cubs the go ahead run towards an overall striking win.

“I would never expect a professional pitcher to walk another pitcher in that situation,” junior Matt Rowe said. “We got a lucky break on that one.”

In the bottom of the 13th, Cubs relief pitcher Clayton Richard closed out the game and earned his first save of the season. With this win, the Cubs tied up their three game series with the Brewers and are enthusiastic to take a “W” in their future games contributing to the series.
