Chasing Goals

A brief summary of the baseball team’s goals this 2018 season.

The lead up to this season has been a long journey for some and the want to get back on the field has been heavily felt throughout the program. The early parts of the season are spent mostly in the gym because the rain keeps the team off of the field which turns long toss into regular catch and minimizes reps. Besides all these downsides of the beginning of the spring the team is excited to get back to playing the sport that they love and enjoy playing with one another.

“My goals are to have fun and get better everyday,” sophomore Trenton Merrill said.

The team is looking to improve on their accomplishments from last year where they lost in the regional championship game but made huge improvements as the season went on.

The team has four college baseball bound seniors: Patrick Day Illinois Tech, JR Johnson UW Oshkosh, Nick Sheren Augustana, and Colin Wieska Lawrence University who are going to be playing college baseball next year. these athletes and the rest of the senior baseball players would love to win their first regional in their last year as a sequoit. They are looking forward to some exciting games and competing for the regional championship.

“I’m most excited to grow as a team and be able to compete with the best teams out there,” sophomore catcher Logan Delgado said. “The most exciting games are the ones where it comes down to the end of an offensive or low scoring game with everything on the line”.
