Candy Grams are Back
Candy Grams fundraiser to support Open Arms Mission.
As the holiday season approaches, the annual Candy Gram fundraiser starts again, giving students the chance to send their fellow peers encouraging notes and candy before break. The event is sponsored by Student Council as an effort to raise money for the Adopt-A-Family operation through Open Arms Mission. This program gives Christmas presents to children in families who cannot afford them, allowing the club to “adopt” a family and buy gifts for the children according to age, gender, and necessities.
“I think it’s a great way to support the community and remind someone that you love and care about them,” said Bella Gigliotti, senior and co-president of Student Council.
The fundraiser will occur in the commons during all lunch periods from Dec. 7-11. Each candy gram contains a candy cane and note that the sender can fill out, all of which is delivered to a person of their choice. The club is anticipating the proceeds from the fundraiser and are hopeful for the lives that will be affected by them.
The 50 cents grams being sold this semester will not only help make a person’s day, but will also give to families in need in the Antioch community.
