Bringing Sin City to A-town
The Vegas Cafe is a restaurant in downtown Antioch that has been in existence for over 40 years.
The Vegas Cafe, previously known as Las Vegas, is a family-run restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch items. Helen Chiappetta has been the owner for around 16 years. Her parents, the original owners, opened the restaurant in 1974. The cafe is themed around Las Vegas.
“My uncle who loved to gamble went to Vegas and won money,” Chiappetta said. “That’s how they came up with the name Las Vegas.”
Chiappetta highly encourages teamwork and a fun work atmosphere among the employees. She also wants customers to feel welcomed, especially since they have many regulars.
“We offer a family-friendly environment [and] strive to provide awesome customer service,” Chiappetta said.
The Vegas Cafe continues to create and explore new menu ideas and welcome new customers. For those who have never been there, they are known for their Meat Lovers Skillet and the Hangover. Doors are open to the public by 6:30 in the morning, and they close at three.
