BRIEF: Boys Soccer Wins Regionals

The Antioch boys varsity soccer team won their final Regional game against Lakes on Saturday, Oct 46. They beat Lakes 2-1, with goals from juniors Iven Hernandez and Eric Pedersen. Hernandez scored to tie the game at the sixty second minute, and then kicked a flawless corner kick to Pedersen, when Pedersen headed it in for the winning goal at the seventy second minute. Hernandez has 67 goals in his three year varsity career, and he has tied the record for most goals in a season, with 32. If he scores tonight, he will break that record. He also has the most assists in a career here at Antioch, with 33.

Because the boys won all of their regional games, they will be playing Grayslake Central on Wednesday, at Grayslake North High School at 6:30. If they win their first regional game, they will be playing the winner of Vernon Hills vs. Marian Central.
