BREAKING: D117 Announces Third Assistant Superintendent

Current Director of Special Education appointed to new student services position.

This morning, Superintendent Jim McKay announced the appointment of current Director of Special Education Brie Cederna‘s promotion to Assistant Superintendent of Student Services to the district staff via email. This appointment means the Community High School District 117 administrative team now includes three assistant superintendents: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction David Bain, Assistant Superintendent/CSBO Jennifer Nolde and, now, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Cederna.

“We believe [Cederna] will be instrumental in coordinating all of our student services,” McKay said in his email.

Cederna will assume her new responsibilities this summer. No announcement has been made about hiring a new Director of Special Education for the district. This administrative move is one of a number of changes in the district for next school year, one of which includes the hiring of a new Assistant Principal of Student Services at Antioch.
