Boys Wrestling Takes Home Regional Championship
This past Saturday, Antioch victoriously snatched the regional championship title and produced nine individual sectional qualifiers.
The Sequoits were able to wrestle to a Regional championship title this past Saturday. Antioch ended the day with a total of nine sectional qualifiers, such as Alex Schneider, and the Regional title, securing a chance to make it to team state.
Each of the rounds were nerve-wracking and tough for the boys, however, they all wrestled well and were each able to personally improve.
“All of the boys competed very well and came out on top as a team,” sophomore manager Sarah Smith said. “Their motivation towards each other and their individual dedication helped them very much throughout the tough day, and the team came out with the result they were hoping for—a regional championship.”
Come out to see them in their last evening meet with Fenton High School to see if they advance to state.
