The Antioch Boys Varsity Soccer team has kicked off to be a great season. The boys have improved a lot since last year. Their current record is 11-4-2, with 4 games left of the season. So far, some of their season highlights were their games against Barrington where they tied 3 to 3, and their game against Libertyville. They lost to Libertyville 1 to 0, but both [Barrington and Libertyville] are very large schools, and are ranked top 5 in the state. Girls and boys varsity soccer coach Marni Polakow said, “We outplayed them and proved that even a small school can play hard against challenging teams.”
All of their upcoming games are at home except for their game against Lakes. Come out to McMillen field and support our Sequoits!
Upcoming games:
Grant: Oct 1
Lakes: Oct 3
Lake Forest: Oct 9
Grayslake North: Oct 11
Polakow said that their goal is “to win the regional championship; so far it is looking positive. In the Regional Championship we would be playing Richmond Burton, Lakes, and Johnsburg.” Polakow has a lot of confidence in the boys and believe they will end with a great season.
