Boys Varsity golf gets their first win against Grant
More stories from Will Torres
On Wednesday, September 3rd, the boys golf team faced Grant at Spring Valley Country Club. The boys played well and won with a score of 174 – 203 and head coach, Michael Hickey, was happy with the teams performance. Freshman Donald Barnett had the lowest score on the team with a 38; Kyle Christian, and Max Palmieri both had the second best scores on the team with 45’s. Barnett was happy with his score because it was his first time shooting in the 30’s so far this season. The boys are pleased with each other and how everyone played. Since the boys played well, they are looking forward to carrying this hard work into their next match, which is against Wauconda.
“I think the team played good; we had some high scores out there, but we also had some low ones,” Barnett said. “We need to improve on some parts of our game, but that’s why we practice.”
The boys are especially happy with our top four scores since they were all excellent scores to have.
The team had a lot of fun playing against Grant since all of the kids on the team are very hardworking. The boys look forward to continue the fun rolling as they head to Prairie Isle to face Wauconda on Friday, September 6th.
