High expectations are always on roll with the boys and girls golf teams. The boys and girls work hard to ensure they succeed this season.
Ever since the girls golf team returned to Antioch Community High School the team has given it their all to grow and learn from each practice and match. But the boy’s golf team is also growing and setting a few goals for their team and individual selves. Most of the golf team has played golf since they were in elementary school.
Junior Brett Mohr said, “I think the team has a good shot at winning conference this year. The team is full of very skilled players this year and we are undefeated in conference so far this year! My personal goal for this season is to beat my best score for nine holes which is a 35 at Antioch Golf Club.”
Mohr started playing golf when he was eight years old. He remembers always playing golf with his father on the weekends, which started his love for the sport.
The team saw lots of success early in their season, setting them up for first in conference at the time. The boys have their minds and eyes on one goal which is to win conference this season. The varsity team has seven tournaments and seven meets not including sectionals. The team has done well in years past, but this season is all about hard work and domination.
Brett said, “Playing golf for the school is great because you get to play on some of the best golf courses in the area and meet many new people from other schools.” In the end, the boys came into the season knowing what they wanted to get out of the season.
