Boys Golf Remains Undefeated

The boy’s golf team picks up their sixth victory of the season and remain undefeated.

On Thursday, August 30, the Antioch varsity boy’s golf team took on Grayslake North at Renwood Golf Course and had high expectations for the outcome of the match. The team has been playing perfect all season and have gotten off to an amazing start. Coming into this match, the boys were 5-0 for the season and wanted a to add a sixth victory. The Sequoits have shutout and beaten Lakes, Grant, Wauconda and Grayslake North once already this season. Led by three seniors, Alex Riedel, Tony Sertic and Trevor Gregory, the boys would settle for nothing less than a win.

“I’m proud of these guys,” Sertic said. “The way we’re going right now, I’m ready to go on and win state.” 

With Riedel, Sertic, Gregory and senior Nick Gagnon all winning their matches, the boys soared to their sixth victory of the season.

“I feel that our last victory was a good sign for the rest of the season,” Gagnon said. “It was proof that we could get what we needed to done at any course we play this year.”
