Boys Basketball vs. Lakes
Sequoits fell to the Eagles on Friday night with a final score of 49-38.
Starting off with high intensity, the Sequoits faced the Eagles for the second time this season. With losing prior games to Lakes, the motivation was strong for the Sequoits.
Unfortunately, the execution was not enough to crush the Eagles.
With the score staying low the entire first quarter, Lakes had a rush of energy at the end, putting the Sequoits behind 16-5 going into the second quarter.
Second quarter, the work was put in by our Sequoits, but not enough to tie it up at half, still trailing at 24-11 to the Eagles.
Senior, Kyle Gofron, recently came back from a hamstring injury and this was his first Varsity game played since the injury.
“I was out for way too long; it felt great to be out on the court and to help my team out again,” said Gofron.
The third and fourth quarters were spent by the Sequoits trying to catch up to the Eagles, but they couldn’t pull through. The final quarter ended with a score of 49-38 to Lakes.
Senior, Trevor Koch, played an intense game, trying to help his team out as best as he could.
“We just didn’t execute our offense well enough. We need to be able to play with intensity in both halves to keep up with the quick plays,” said Koch.
The Sequoits are looking to be successful for the rest of their season and to show off their hard work in the upcoming playoffs.
