Knights Take Home Conference Win Against Sequoits
The boys fought hard, but in the end the Knights won the joust.
The boys Varsity basketball team played a tough game Friday night against Grayslake North; however, the Sequoits did not end up with the outcome they had wanted that night. The boys lost to the Knights: 56-43.
A back and forth first half had the Sequoits up one as they ran to the locker rooms. Coming out of halftime, the score was 28-27, but as the third quarter progressed it seemed that the Knights lead with more energy and momentum, which had caused the Sequoits to get into some foul trouble.
Sophomore Dan Filippone changed the tempo of the game when he had scored a 3-pointer in the middle of the third. The team’s confidence grew with the next few possessions.
Beginning of the fourth quarter the Knights were already in the bonus, and senior Logan Weber fouled out with 1:25 left in the game.
Filippone led the team in scoring with 24 points for the evening.
“Our season has been going pretty good, but I know we could be doing even better than we are now,” junior Alex Larson said.
The boys fought hard and are hoping to redeem themselves at their next game. The boys play at Wauconda on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7:00 p.m.
