Boys Basketball Season Recap
Boys overcome expectations by winning a Regional final and making their way to the Sectional semifinal against St. Pats.
This year’s varsity basketball team has been more successful than Antioch has seen in a while.
20 years, to be exact.
In a tough battle against Carmel for the Regional championship, the Sequoits took away the win, and the plaque, by one point.
With an ending record of 12-14, the Sequoits’ season ended after losing in the Sectional semifinal against St. Pats.
Senior captain Danny Brito, is happy with the outcome of his final season on the team.
“This season was most successful when we had everyone healthy and able to practice. This was a key contributor to our success,” said Brito.
Even though the Sequoits looked to go farther in playoffs, a Regional win was just what the team needed to feel successful and served as a great way to say good-bye to our seniors on the team.
Senior Trevor Koch, speaks on how he will miss the team, but is also happy with the way his final season ended.
“The best moment of our season was winning Regionals on our home court, by far. But I’m going to miss laughing and joking around with my team every day. We set the bar pretty high for next year’s team, but I think this season will motivate them to be even more successful,” said Koch.
As another sports season ends, it ends with overall success and happiness for our varsity basketball team.
