Battle for a Change
Antioch and Lakes in a race to raise the most money for Open Arms.
October 16, 2014
Antioch Community High School’s Interact Club is in a race against Lakes to raise the most amount of money for Open Arms Mission. The school that raises the most amount of money for Open Arms will win a trophy. Each school hopes to raise at least 1,000 dollars.
ACHS junior and Interact Club Co-President Jasmine DeLara said, “Battle for Change is a competition against Lakes though the Interact Club. The money goes to the Open Arms foods pantry in Antioch. We have had great results in the past years. Last year, Antioch won and we are hoping to continue the streak and win again.”
ACHS senior Kendall Kuxhouse said, “There’s a lot of involvement and interacting with the community. Some days are more business and getting things done and other days are fun and some interacting games to get to know each other.”
The race began on Oct. 15 and the Antioch Sequoits are currently in the lead. Antioch has currently raised $281.41 and Lakes $198.80. The competition ends Friday, Oct. 17, so continue to donate your spare change in the commons during lunch hours. Find out who raised the most amount of money next week.
