Bachelor Breakdown: Has It Gone Too Far?
Season 21 of ABC’s “The Bachelor” has become one of the most controversial shows on television, and here’s why.
ABC’s “The Bachelor” has been around for over 20 seasons, but has never gotten the amount of attention it has received this year. The reality TV show about finding love has been named one of the most controversial shows on the air.
Season 21 of “The Bachelor” has gotten huge amounts of attention, but people are starting to question if the show is becoming too trashy and unrealistic. Many critics claim that the show has become too hard to watch because the contestants on the show are seeming to lose the sole purpose of the series.
“Overall, I am pretty disappointed with how some of the girls are handling themselves,” season six contestant Ali Fedotowsky said. “In general, there is just too much focus on sexuality this season already.”
Most of the criticism has been aimed at one contestant: Corinne Olympios, for her behavior on the show. Critics have called her behavior trashy, due to the unnecessary drama she has caused on the show. The most concerning part of this season is for younger teens that watch the show. Claims have been made that it is not setting a good example for teen girls. Many viewers fear that girls will start to think that the only way they can win a guy’s heart is by acting in that sort of manner.
“As a mom, I sat there and watched the show thinking, ‘I never want my daughter to think she has to behave this way to find a good man,’” Fedotowsky said.
As each episode airs, more drama unravels and more controversy is ignited. Many people, including Nick, the bachelor himself, are questioning if he will find true love once and for all.
